Our Cozy Mark IV first took to the skies on June 23, 1999 after nearly 8 years of building. It is built pretty much according to the plans and is equipped with a Lycoming IO-360 A1A (200 H.P.) engine on which Eric did a complete overhaul the following winter. We started with a two blade wood prop from Props, Inc. in Newport, OR and have since installed a composite 3-blade prop from Craig Catto. Both have performed well. Other "extras" include a Strong Electric Pitch Trim system and an LSE Electronic Ignition in place of one mag. While not an "extra", all of the fuel injection parts were overhauled or supplied by Don Rivera at Airflow Performance. Most recently, we installed a Wilhelmson Electric Nose Lift. All of these folks have provided excellent service.

Back when we got started, the Internet was of little value, but now days, there are several excellent sites where builders have chronicled their progress by each chapter. We won't try to do that here, but here are the pictures from our airplane construction album with a few words here and there. I'm working on reducing the image sizes for faster loading.

Building an airplane is much easier than you probably think. Here's everything you need to do, as recorded by David for a Father's Day project in his first grade class. Another school project by David .
