It’s been a few months since my last update, but my interest hasn’t waned. It’s a little challenging staying motivated without having the time or money to pursue this project, but I’m still finding ways to stay interested. For the next few weeks I’m going to be working in the Santa Barbara area of CA and have made a few initial contact to the EAA and another builder in hopes of connecting with another builder/flyer. If you know anyone near by who might be open for a cup of coffee, please let me know, I’d love to meet them.

I haven’t done much with the aircraft stuff, but I’m getting closer to finishing my car project. It’s taken a lot longer and more expensive than I had anticipated, but thankfully it will be done next month. With the new space in the garage and a little extra money, I might actually be able to get started for real.

My dad bought a second plane so he can fly one while he finished restoring the other. I’m now considering doing something similar. Realistically, this project is going to take far longer than I had hoped, maybe as much 6-8 years. I would rather not wait that long to begin flying again so I might buy into something so I can get in the air again. Renting a plane is not very practical and it’s probably the most expensive option I can do. It’s also limited to being stuck near the airport. I want to go places. Champaign tastes on a Budweiser budget :)

My kids want to go to Space Camp this summer. I told them they could go to any camp they wanted to. I’m pretty excited that this is the one they want to go to. I’m thinking of the one in Alabama www.spacecamp.com

Anyone have any opinions about buying a used Long-eze? Anything I should know about that could get me in trouble?

Until next time, happy Valentines Day!
