Chapter 5 Fuselage Sides

The first major layup, glassing the fuselage sides, takes place in this chapter. I asked for assistance from Terry Yake, my local advisor, with the layup. It took us about 4 hours on an otherwise solo 8 to 10 hours to complete the 2 ply UNI layup.

The 1/4" depressions for the control sticks was a cause for concern. The PVC foam is only 3/8" thick, leaving only a 1/8" margin for error. The use of the Dremel tool router attachment expedited the process.
