Here are the sides after I cut the foam with a hacks saw.  You must be careful.  It is easy to cut two much foam off.

 

 

 
 


 

 

 

 

I had a hard time rounding the foam.  The flat sander kept putting a flat spot on the low density foam.  My solution was to cut and shape a section of CPVC pipe into a sanding block.  I attached a wood block for a handle and used spray adhesive to attach the sand paper to the pipe.

 
  

 

 

   

 

 

 

Here you can see my son helping.  I used paint sticks to force the glass into the depressions for the landing gear cover.  This worked very well. 

 

I installed the marker beacon antenna on the bottom.  I am following the recommendations from RST for antenna placement and construction.  I used peel ply on all lay-ups.  I hope this is not adding weight.  It sure makes the surface smooth.  I plan to fill and finish as I go.

 

I built the A frame stands to support the plane so I could complete the lay-ups.
