The spar cap was flush wth the foam just prior to peel-ply. Here are some fairly decent areas.

I had everything nice and flat just prior to the peel-ply. I used a credit card to drag it across the spar cap several times.
But look at those ripples that came through after cure.
I just don't get it.
I will be doing the top spar cap this weekend. I will take pics during the layup, just prior to
peel-ply, then afterwards.

Well I was wrong. It was my stippling which caused the "swelled" valleys!
Dang, 7 spar caps to realize that!
