Hi Rick, I tried posting this to the Hang Gliding general forum of hanggliding.org earlier this week, but didn't see a response. Don't know if that was deliberate on your part, or merely an oversight...
-- Small world...
Rick, I have been using GPSVisualizer to convert my tracks from GPX format, because I very much like being able to color the track by altitude, but I was browsing today for a more batch-mode alternative (I have a lot of unprocessed tracks) and came across your even better converter. Being able to select among colorization options in Google Earth is really sweet!
So, my question now is whether I might be able to get a copy of your Java code so that I can run it locally rather than just through the web interface.
By the way, the "Small world..." opening above is because I think you're the very same Rick from whom I bought a bright red pair of used bar mitts (which have proven quite useful for flying in the Kamloops, BC area) when I was living and working in Colorado Springs. I'm now having a wonderful year in Australia where my new wife is on a one-year teaching exchange...there are several good flying sites in this Canberra area, and lots of pilots.
