Ability to add a note describing the domain/range of choices in a lookup-list.
Ideally, it would be nice if one could provide an annotation on a per choice basis.
This would be esp. useful if we had locked lookup lists as a form of documentation.
Another possibility would be to allow attachments for lookup-lists.
This would allow attaching a pdf or plain-text file describing some/all choices of the list in more detail.

Where would all of this extra information be used? Just on the Lookup List detail screen?

An annotation about the domain of the lookup-list would appear on the lookup list detail.

For locked and nested lookup-lists (both hypothetical features) when a choice has an annotation (lets assume locked choice annotations are ~80 characters) the annotation could appear in the lookup-list selection screen.

One use case for choice level annotations is as an indication at selection time a nuance around a particular choice that some other choice may be preferred.
For example, in the "Book Genre" lets say i add "Medicine" to the list of choices and I want to indicate that their is a nuance around the "Health" and "Medicine" choices.
I add two reciprocal annotations:
for Medicine I add "medical science -- use Health for general condition of body and mind"
for Health I add "general condition of body and mind -- use Medicine for medical science"
