Several times, I have deleted either a log entry or an entire log by mistake. Granted I am also still in the learning phase, but with the touch screen, occasionally the swipe and delete are performed accidently...or I may be clumsy. It would be nice no have the option to confirm a delete and to enable it or disable it as per the user's request...like in the email application...may not be necessary but it is a comforting option for the user.

But keep in mind that a swipe-to-delete is already a two-step process. The first is of course the actual swipe gesture. Then a Delete button appears. The second step is to tap the Delete button to do the actual deletion. Tapping anywhere else outside the Delete button cancels the delete request.
