FlyChart
FlyChart Under Parallels
I have been able to use FlyChart on my Mac laptop by using Parallels under OS X. This includes uploading and downloading data to/from my Flytec 6030. This has been tested with FlyChart 4.52, Mac OS X 10.4.11, and Parallels Build 3214.
These instructions assume you have Parallels installed and you understand how to use it.
Insert the FlyChart CD into the computer so you can access the disk from OS X. Install the OS X version of the Serial/USB converter.
Now start Parallels and connect the CD to the Windows OS. Install FlyChart. Install the Windows version of the Serial/USB converter. This should happen automatically as part of the FlyChart installation if using the latest versions of FlyChart.
Run FlyChart. Turn on the vario and follow the normal instructions to plug in the USB cable and set the vario on the correct menu. Plug the USB cable into the computer.
On the Parallels menu select Devices then USB then ensure the menu USB-Serial Controller is checked.
Start FlyChart under Parallels. Go to the System Settings window. Under the Flight Instrument section drop down the Port list. There should be an entry for COM3. Select COM3. You can now upload and download to/from the vario.
